Workspace: files and chat

The heart of Daneshyar: upload files, ask questions and get answers with their sources.

This is where you spend most of your time. On one side are your files; in the middle is the chat, where you ask questions and Daneshyar answers from those files.

Apps page → an app → press a workspace's name.

Upload files

Drag files onto the files area, or press Browse files. You can send several at once.

  • Which files? PDF (books, handouts, papers), images, audio (a recorded meeting or class) and video.
  • A progress bar shows how far each upload has got. If one stops halfway, press Retry.
  • Press any file to see what Daneshyar read from it.
  • To delete a file, use the menu next to it. A deleted file is no longer used in answers.
Example: for a biology class, upload the textbook (PDF) and the recorded lesson. Now a student can ask “What did the teacher say about mitosis?” and get the answer with the minute it was said.
Reading each file uses a little of your credits. If you have run out, the file is not uploaded and the list tells you so.

Is my file ready?

After an upload, Daneshyar has to read the file. You see each file's status next to it. As soon as one file is ready, you can start asking.

  • In queue: its turn has not come yet — wait a little.
  • Vectorizing (processing): Daneshyar is reading the file. Big files and long videos take longer.
  • Ready: done — you can ask it questions now.
  • Paused: the AI service was busy. Your file is fine; start it again and it continues from where it stopped.
  • Failed: the file could not be read. Open it to see why. Processing it again, or uploading a cleaner copy, usually fixes it.

Ask a question

Write your question in everyday words and press Send. You do not need to know the document's exact words.

Example: instead of searching the handbook for the word “leave”, ask: “If an employee is sick for three days, do they need a doctor's note?”
Daneshyar answers only from this workspace's files. If the answer is not in your files, it politely says it could not find it. That is not an error — it means Daneshyar does not make things up.
  • Attach an image to ask about it: add a picture to your question — for example a chart or a printed form. The image is only part of that question and is not saved as a file. One image per question.
  • Skills: if you have made skills, pick one before sending and the answer is written in that style.
  • New chat clears the page for a new topic. Earlier chats stay in Chat history, where you can search them.
  • Under each answer, use the like and dislike buttons to say whether it helped.
  • Each answer uses a little of your credits.

Sometimes Daneshyar needs a few small details to do a job. Then, instead of the text box, you see a short form that asks one thing at a time. Use Next and Back to move, Skip to pass a question, or Cancel to close the form.

You can also ask the chat to automate something — for example “Whenever someone asks a question in our Telegram group, answer from these files.” See the Automations guide.

Where did the answer come from?

Daneshyar shows where an answer came from in two ways:

  • File names under the answer: the files used for this answer.
  • Small numbers in the text: each number points to an exact part of a file. Hover over one to see the page number, or press it and choose View source to open that part.
  • For audio and video you see a time instead of a page — for example “02:10–02:45”, meaning the answer was said in those minutes.
Why it matters: if an answer looks odd, you do not have to guess. Press the number and read the original text yourself.
An answer without numbers is not necessarily wrong. Sometimes Daneshyar finds the answer in your files but cannot point to one exact part.

Workspace instructions

Instructions are fixed rules Daneshyar follows in every answer in this workspace. Press Edit to change them.

Example: “Always answer in English, in a few short sentences. If the answer has steps, number them.”
  • Instructions vs skills: instructions apply always; a skill applies only when someone picks it.
  • If you are happy with how answers read, leave them empty.
  • Write it for me: type a few words (for example “formal and short”) and Daneshyar writes full instructions for you. It uses a few credits, and you can use it at most twice a minute.

The buttons at the top

Only the workspace owner sees these buttons. On a phone, most of them are inside the ⋯ menu.

  • Share: make a link so others can ask questions without signing up.
  • Members: add colleagues by their phone number or email.
  • Embed: put a small chat window on your own website. The button appears once the workspace has files.
  • Skills: ready-made answer styles.
  • Automations: jobs that run by themselves — for example answering in a Telegram or Bale group.
  • Edit: the workspace's name, description and instructions.
  • Notes: the workspace's shared notebook. A side column on a big screen, a button on a phone.

Delete the workspace

Deleting a workspace cannot be undone. All its files and chats are gone for good. You can also delete it from the app page, next to the workspace's name.
