  3. Inside an app

Inside an app

Create and manage workspaces, and set the style of answers with skills.

When you open an app, you see its list of workspaces. Most of what you do here is create a workspace and go into it.

Apps page → press an app's card. On a phone, the app's details are behind the Key & details button.

Workspaces

A workspace is where you keep the files for one topic. Each workspace's chat answers only from the files in that workspace, so topics never mix.

Example: a tutoring centre makes one workspace per subject: “Year 10 Maths”, “Year 11 Biology” and “Year 12 Chemistry”. A question asked in “Year 11 Biology” is answered only from the biology handouts.
  • To create one, press New workspace. A name is needed; a description is optional.
  • To open one, press its name.
  • The Shared label means the workspace's public link is on, so anyone with the link can ask questions. See the “Sharing and members” guide.
Deleting a workspace also deletes its files and chats for good.

Skills

A skill is a ready-made instruction about how to answer. You write it once, and then anyone can pick it when they ask a question. Press Skills to open the panel.

Example: a skill called “Plain words for patients” with the instruction “Explain without medical terms, in a few short sentences.” Whenever a doctor wants text for a patient, they pick this skill.
  • New skill: write a name, a short description and the instruction. The instruction is only for Daneshyar — the person asking never sees it.
  • A skill you make here (on the app page) is available in every workspace of this app. A skill made inside a workspace stays in that workspace.
  • Inside a workspace, the app's skills carry a From app label. To change or delete them, come back to this page.
Skills are optional. The chat works fully without any.

App details

Use Edit details to change the app's name and description. The number of workspaces and the date the app was created are shown here too.

API key (for developers only)

If you have no developer, or you do not want to connect Daneshyar to other software, you can skip this part.

  • The API key is like the app's password. Your developer uses it to connect Daneshyar to your own website or software.
  • Guard it like a bank card PIN, and never send it to anyone in a messenger or by email.
  • If you think the key has leaked, press Regenerate. The old key stops working at once, and the new one is shown only once — give it to your developer to swap in.
The widget uses this same key, and anyone can see it in your website's code. If you want a widget on your site, make a separate app for it.

The technical details for developers are in the documentation.
